Privacy Policy

Sip Privacy Policy

Sip is a local daily drink log. It does not require an account or subscription, and the app does not send your drink log to Jadonglab.

Last updated: July 31, 2026

1. Scope

This policy explains how Jadonglab handles information in connection with the Sip iPhone and iPad app, its Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets, the Apple Watch companion, the Sip website, and support or privacy communications.

2. App data stays local

Sip handles drink-log entries, including the selected drink, custom drink names, artwork, and timestamps. It also handles Quick Log selections and order, appearance and drink-size settings, custom drink images, daily background images, and background styles. This information is stored locally and is not sent to Jadonglab.

Sip encrypts app state before storing it in its local app-group container. The encryption key is kept in Apple Keychain, and image files use Apple's data-protection features. The app group allows the Sip app and its widgets to use the same local state.

Sip does not provide a user account or its own cloud-sync service. It does not include an advertising SDK, analytics SDK, tracking, subscription, or in-app purchase.

3. Camera and selected photos

Sip asks for camera access only after you choose to take a custom drink image or daily background photo. When you use Apple's system Photos picker, Sip receives the image you select rather than asking for general access to your photo library.

Sip isolates, crops, resizes, and encodes selected images on your device. It stores the resulting copy in its local container. Removing the source from Photos does not automatically remove the copy stored by Sip.

4. Widgets, Apple Watch, and sharing

Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets use Sip's shared local app-group data to show the current count and provide Quick Log actions.

The iPhone app and Apple Watch companion use Apple's WatchConnectivity framework to exchange drink-log state needed to synchronize today's count between your paired devices. This device-to-device exchange does not use a Jadonglab server.

When you share a daily recap, Sip prepares the image on your device and opens Apple's system share sheet. The recap goes only to the person, app, or service you choose, subject to that recipient's or service's privacy practices. Sip does not upload the recap to Jadonglab.

5. Data not collected from the app

Jadonglab does not collect data from the Sip app for advertising, marketing, analytics, profiling, or tracking, and does not sell app data. The app's privacy and support links open this website in your browser.

6. Website and support communications

This Sip website does not include advertising pixels, cross-site tracking, or a product-analytics script. Its hosting provider may process ordinary technical request information, such as IP address, browser and device information, requested URL, and request time, to deliver, secure, and operate the website.

If you email support or send a privacy request, Jadonglab receives the contact details, message content, and attachments you choose to provide. Jadonglab uses that information to respond, troubleshoot, prevent abuse, comply with applicable law, and keep records where reasonably necessary for those purposes.

7. Retention and your choices

  • Decline camera access and use Apple's Photos picker, or use Sip without adding custom images.
  • Replace or remove a custom drink image from an entry on today's Home screen.
  • Replace or remove today's daily background from Sip settings.
  • Choose whether and where to share a daily recap.
  • Remove Sip from the device to remove its local app data, except for copies that may remain in an Apple-managed device backup.
  • Contact Jadonglab to ask about, correct, or request deletion of a support or privacy communication you previously sent, subject to applicable legal requirements.

Sip retains local drink logs and settings on the device until you change a supported setting, replace or remove a supported image, or remove the app. Historical drink entries are read-only in the current version. Depending on your Apple device and backup settings, local Sip data may be included in a device backup managed by Apple. Apple handles that backup under its own terms and privacy practices.

Support and privacy communications are kept only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above, unless a longer period is required by law.

8. Children

Sip is not directed to children for the purpose of collecting personal information, and the app does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes and contact

This policy may be updated when Sip or applicable practices change. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a revised date.

Questions or requests can be sent to dkim@jadonglab.com.
